Right before the 6th China International Consumer Products Expo kicks off, Haikou Customs rolled out a “convenience package” to give exhibitors and their supplies a smooth, one-stop clearance experience.
Haikou Customs has just released a “Customs Clearance Guide” and a set of “Facilitation Measures” for the 6th CICPE. They’re rolling out 16 practical steps covering four key areas: service support, tax benefits, simpler paperwork, and smarter oversight – all to make sure exhibitors and their goods get through customs smoothly and without delays.
Special channels and service desks for the CICPE are now open at key ports in Hainan, like Haikou Meilan International Airport and Yangpu Port. They’ve also set up a “green channel” for incoming exhibits, so exhibitors get priority with customs declarations, inspections, sampling, and testing.
To make things quick and easy, participants need to do their info filing ahead of time through the “Single Window” or “Internet + Customs” platform, and submit their exhibit lists and other details in advance. That way, once the goods arrive, everything can clear customs smoothly and fast.
For items temporarily brought in for the CICPE, a unified clearance model is in place. This means exhibitors or their designated on-site logistics teams only have to declare once to Haikou Customs. The actual inspection and release of goods will be handled directly by customs officers at the port. Plus, with a “one-time filing, batch list submission” system, follow-up clearance steps are greatly simplified.
Here’s the tax perk for selling exhibits at CICPE: If imported products are sold at the expo within the set limits, you won’t pay import duties, import VAT, or consumption tax. And if sales go over the limit, customs will speed up clearance to keep sales moving smoothly.
During the expo, customs will set up on-site offices to supervise tax exemption compliance, plus help desks that cover everything from customs rules to clearance and policy advice. Haikou Customs will also give support at the CICPE sub‑venues in Sanya and Boao, helping coordinate growth in industries like yachts and medical equipment.
