Hainan’s big annual investment event, the 2026 Global Industry Investment Promotion Conference for the Hainan Free Trade Port, is set to take place from April 13 to 16, 2026.
As of April 1, a total of 1,399 companies from China and overseas have said they’re coming — that includes 277 foreign-funded firms, plus 82 from big-name lists like the Fortune Global 500, S&P China 500, and China’s Top 500 private businesses.
The conference will bring together top industry leaders from around the world. Attendees include big names like Isabelle Van Rycke, President and CEO of France’s UPSA; Thailand’s CP Group Senior Vice Chairman Suphachai Chearavanont; ALBA Group Asia CEO Zhao Mingxi; Fosun International Chairman Guo Guangchang; and Liaoning Fangda Group Chairman Fang Wei. Along with more than 100 other senior execs from well-known global companies, they’ll dive into the new opportunities opening up in the Hainan Free Trade Port since the island started its special customs operations.
Organizers say the conference will be all about “matching, signing, and putting projects into action.” So far, Hainan’s Provincial Investment Promotion Joint Office and the Provincial Major Projects Office have put together a list of 263 investment projects worth over 350 billion yuan. Meanwhile, the Hainan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, along with the Department of Commerce and other agencies, has polished up 80 application scenarios ready for use. They’ve also pulled together 54 sample cases based on 28 key industry areas — each one laying out the project’s strengths, how it works, the steps to make it happen, and the benefits it brings in the Free Trade Port.
The Department of Commerce, along with other key provincial and financial units, will set up policy consultation teams in major hotels to answer company questions. The conference venue will also have dedicated areas for policy consultation and investment promotion, showcasing opportunities from different cities, counties, and industrial parks. These “policy pit stops” are designed to give attendees clear, accurate, and easy‑to‑access help on policy matters.
Organizers say the focus of the conference’s investment push will be on the FTP’s four pillar industries, the “Five Directions for Strengthening Growth”—like seed breeding, the marine industry, commercial aerospace, green development, and the digital economy—and the “Four New” industries of the future.
