Wenchang Confucius Temple (文昌孔庙) dates back to the Song Dynasty, constructed between 1042 and 1048. Rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty in 1375, it underwent several renovations in the Qing Dynasty. It stands as the most well-preserved ancient building in Wenchang, Hainan Island.

The temple houses a sacred spring believed to confer wisdom and academic success upon those who drink from it. Local tradition holds that students who partake of its waters will excel in their studies and examinations.
