Nanwan Monkey Island, situated within Lingshui County on the southern coast of Hainan, serves as a protected nature reserve for macaque monkeys. While referred to as an island, this reserve is situated on the Nanwan Peninsula, adjacent to Xincun Harbor to the east and south. Accessible via China’s longest over-water cable car from Xincun, spanning an impressive 2,138 meters, the journey offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Established in 1965 as a sanctuary for Macaca mulatta, the Nanwan Monkey Island has evolved into one of the most sought-after tourist destinations on Hainan’s east coast, home to approximately 2,000 monkeys.

Embark on our day tour to Monkey Island priced at CNY498 per adult (minimum 4 guests per trip). The tour includes a cable car ride to Monkey Island, private round-trip transfers with a Chinese-speaking driver, and a boat ride in an authentic local fishing village. For English interpretation assistance, an additional CNY500 per tour is applicable, while a professional English-speaking tour guide is available at CNY800 per day. Children under 1.2 meters in height traveling with adults receive half-price admission with a minimum of 2 adults per tour.
