Riyue Bay Beach or Riyuewan in China is located near Xinglong Town, Wanning City, Hainan, Island along the east coast of Hainan Island, 110 KM away from Sanya in the southern part and 170 KM from Haikou in the northern part of Hainan Island.
With its strong waves, Riyue Bay is the best beach in Hainan for surfing, especially in Winter Time (November to March). So for surfing in China during wintertime, Hainan is one of the few choices on Hainan Island for great surfing.
Riyue Bay Wanning is also the host for a few international surfing competitions.
Riyuebay is located between Haikou & Sanya, Hainan Island, so to reach Riyuebay, you can book a flight into Haikou Meilan Airport in the north or Sanya Phoenix International Airport in the south.
There are several ways to reach Riyue Bay beach from Haikou & Sanya Airport by high-speed train, local taxi, or private transfers. A local taxi to Riyue Bay from Sanya Airport costs about 500CNY/way, and takes 1.25 hours. From Haikou, it should cost about 600CNY/way, and take 1.5 hours.
