Nanshan Cultural Park: Home to the Sacred Tri-Aspect Guanyin
Nanshan Cultural Park consists of three main areas: Longevity Valley, Nanshan Temple, and the iconic Nanhai Guanyin Statue. Nanshan Temple is historically notable as the first state-approved Buddhist temple established after 1949.
The centerpiece is the 108-meter-tall Nanhai Guanyin, the world’s tallest Buddhist statue. Consecrated in 2005, it portrays Guan Yin in three forms: one holding a sutra, one with prayer beads, and one with a lotus—representing blessing, protection, and compassion, and offering a peaceful place for contemplation.
