This journey is designed to be immersive rather than extreme. Daily distances range from 60km to 115km, primarily on flat, well-paved tourism roads. The pace is moderate, with ample time for breaks, photos, and enjoying the scenery. It's suitable for cyclists with a basic level of fitness and a love for adventure. Our support vehicle is always nearby for reassurance.
Absolutely. The support vehicle follows the group. Its primary roles are to carry your main luggage, provide water/snack resupply, offer mechanical assistance, and serve as a shuttle if you need a break. You can ride in it for any section—this is your journey, and flexibility is key to enjoying it.
Day 7 is a free exploration day in Sanya. We provide suggested routes around Yalong Bay and Haitang Bay so you can relax and explore at your own pace. Your main luggage will remain at the hotel. This is a perfect day for beach time, casual riding, or visiting local attractions independently.
Daily breakfast at the hotel and most lunches are included (as noted in the itinerary). Lunches are organized group meals at local restaurants. For dinner, you are free to choose—you can explore local food markets, try restaurants near the hotel, or eat with fellow cyclists. Our leader is always happy to give recommendations!
Each morning, you leave your main luggage in the lobby. Our team loads it onto the support vehicle. It will be delivered directly to your next hotel room. You only need to carry a small daypack with essentials like sunscreen, water, and a camera while riding.
Our bilingual leader and support driver are equipped with basic tools and spare parts (like tubes) for on-the-spot repairs. For more complex issues, we have contacts with bike shops along the route. We ensure you spend minimal time off the bike.
The Hainan Tourism Roads are designed for scenic travel and generally have lighter traffic compared to main highways. They offer wide shoulders and smooth surfaces, making them ideal and safe for cycling. We avoid busy urban roads whenever possible.
We typically start after a hearty breakfast, aiming to be on the road by 8:00 AM. We ride with scheduled breaks every 1.5-2 hours. Lunch is around midday. We aim to arrive at the next hotel between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, giving you time to relax, shower, and explore the local area.
Essential cycling gear: padded shorts, moisture-wicking jerseys, gloves, sunglasses. For the climate: high-SPF sunscreen, lip balm, a lightweight rain jacket, and electrolyte tablets. Also pack casual clothes, swimwear, comfortable shoes for evenings, and personal toiletries.
We ride as a loose group. Faster riders can go ahead, knowing the route, while the leader often rides in the middle. We regroup at all major turns, scheduled rest stops, and for lunch. The support vehicle brings up the rear, so no one is ever left behind.
We plan rest stops at gas stations, visitor centers, or local restaurants which have clean restrooms. In more remote scenic areas, facilities may be basic. We always inform the group of the next available rest stop.
The west coast offers a more rustic and cultural experience—think fishing villages, salt pans, and dramatic coastal rock formations. The east coast is more developed for tourism, with long stretches of sandy beaches, coconut palm groves, and resort bays. Both are stunning in their own way.
Safety is our top priority. In case of severe weather warnings (like typhoons), we may modify the route, shorten the day's ride, or use the support vehicle for transport. For regular tropical rain showers, we ride through them with rain gear—they often pass quickly.
Yes! Our schedule includes time at key attractions. For example, on Day 3 we arrive at Ocean Flower Island in the afternoon, giving you time to explore its unique architecture and beaches before or after checking into the hotel.
We arrange everything for a smooth transfer. The bikes are carefully packed and transported as luggage on the same high-speed train. Our staff assists with check-in and collection. You can relax and enjoy the scenic train ride while we handle the logistics.
