There’s a new flight option for trips to Haikou! Since February 6th, Condor Airlines has been flying an Airbus A330 from Frankfurt via Bangkok every Monday and Friday.
This is more than just a new flight; it’s a convenient bridge between Germany, Thailand, and China. It also doubles as a milestone for Meilan Airport, being its first “Fifth Freedom” route of the year, and for Condor Airlines, marking their debut service to Haikou.

Simply put, the “Fifth Freedom of the Air” permits an airline to operate flights between two foreign nations, provided the route connects to its home country. This is a boost for airlines, helping them optimize plane usage and increase earnings on less busy routes. For passengers, it means more choices and often more competitive prices on international travel.
The route is operated by German Condor Airlines using an Airbus A330, with one flight every Monday and Friday. The detailed flight schedule is as follows:
•Inbound flight (DE2360): Departs from Frankfurt International Airport, Germany, at 20:15 local time, lands at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand, at 13:20 local time, then departs again at 15:20 and arrives at Haikou Meilan International Airport at 18:25 Beijing time.
•Outbound flight (DE2361): Departs from Haikou at 20:40 Beijing time, arrives in Bangkok at 21:50 local time, departs again at 23:50, and finally arrives in Frankfurt at 06:40 local time the next day.
With the 2026 Spring Festival travel season underway, Meilan Airport has made check-in easier for international/regional flights:
• Earlier check-in: Now open 3 hours before departure (was 2.5 hours).
• Counters: B10 (Hainan Airlines) & A13 (other airlines) in T2.
• Hours: 4:00 PM – 4:00 AM daily.
• Perfect for: Early birds with flights before 7:00 AM – check in the night before!
